Applications are now open to join the City of Greater Geelong’s new Affordable Social Housing Advisory Committee.

Earlier this month, Council approved the establishment of the Committee to guide the implementation of our Social Housing Plan 2020-2041.

The plan, which was endorsed by Council in February, aims to help create a further 12,000 new social housing dwellings in the municipality over the next 20 years. Please familiarise yourself with the plan from the document library.

The new committee will meet four times a year to advise Council on housing-related issues, activities and opportunities.

We’re calling for expressions of interest from locals who have an interest or involvement in social housing, such as:

• lived or associated experience;
• community service provider;
• planning, construction and delivery; or
• funding and philanthropy.

Membership on the committee is for two years and positions are unpaid.
