Welcome

Babab Nyayl (Children Speaking Up in traditional Wadawurrung language) is a project for children 5 years and under.

This project is part of the Geelong Design Week 2022. The theme for 2022 is ‘Taur’, which means ‘belonging’ in the language of the Wadawurrung, Traditional Owners of Djilang (Geelong).

We want to know where your child's favourite place is in Greater Geelong, a place they love to visit and spend time and feel a sense of belonging.

Take a photo of your child (open to children 5 years of age and under) in their favourite place and submit below. Terms and conditions apply and can be viewed here or in the Document Library section of this page.

Your child's photo may be projected onto the Barwon Water forecourt during Geelong Design Week 17-27 March 2022. You will be contacted via email if your photo is selected.

Invite your friends and family along to view the photos. Photos will be projected from sunset daily between 17-27 March 2022.

We hope your family enjoy participating in this project.

Submissions open Wednesday 19 January 2022 and close 9am Monday 14 February 2022.

Visit Geelong Design Week 2022 to find out about other events, workshops and activities happening from the 17-27 March.
