Update 25 November 2025

The final master Plan for Coastside Drive Recreation Reserve was approved by Council on Tuesday 25 November.

Thank you to all community members and stakeholders who provided input into the master plan to ensure it meets community needs.

The project will now move in to detailed design phase with an aim to begin construction in 2027.

The final master plan and consultation report can be found in the document library of this page and through the Geelong Australia website.

The City is inviting the community and stakeholders to help shape Coastside Drive Recreation Reserve's future vision through a new master plan.

Located at 530 Horseshoe Bend Road in Armstrong Creek, Coastside Drive Recreation Reserve will be a local community hub for active recreation, sporting activity, and play, blending high-quality facilities with the natural environment.

The Coastside Drive Recreation Reserve Draft Master Plan has been developed to guide the delivery of a new community active recreation (sports) reserve in Armstrong Creek. The plan is guided by the Armstrong Creek East Precinct Structure Plan, local demand for sport and facility requirements, and site conditions.

Key proposals include:

  • district-level play space
  • multi-use sports fields
  • community sports pavilion
  • integrated shared path network throughout the reserve
  • protection and enhancement of native vegetation, and the provision of passive recreation opportunities
  • car park.
