Community Engagement Summary Report available

23 March 2022

Feedback on the 'Community engagement means having your say' project is now closed.

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback, it is valued and appreciated.

The overall aim of this consultation was to engage with our community to better understand and appreciate the range of their views and thoughts on ‘What does community engagement mean to them, and why is it important to have a say in their city’?

We had an amazing response and want to thank you for your valuable insights. 39 community members posted their thoughts on our online ‘vision board’, with a further 116 votes received on the individual posts.

From this feedback, we heard, our community:

• wants to have their diversity of views and perspectives to be considered.

• is passionate about the need to influence Council’s decision-making.

• has a strong desire to contribute to their community in a meaningful way.

• through engagement, wants to share their knowledge and experience.

• sees engagement as a connection to the Council for increasing visibility and voice on local issues. They want to know that Council is listening.

• want to have an inclusive and informed relationship with the City.

We also asked our community ‘What is the best way for us to tell you about future engagement opportunities’. This data will assist us to ensure we are using the right method to reach our audience.

How did we do?

We are committed to continue improving your community engagement experience with the City, and the best way for us to do this is to hear directly from you.

Please complete our short survey to share your experience with us. The survey will take 3-5 minutes to complete.

The information we gather in the survey will not used in project decision making and is not connected to your engagement input.

We will use it to inform our processes and adapt to what you - the community wants and needs from us in order to participate in our engagements.
