Nominations for the Central Geelong Business Reference Group closed in June 2021. Teh reference group was convened in July 2021.

As the cultural, economic and employment hub of our region, Council are committed to making Central Geelong a vibrant, economically sustainable and attractive destination for our community and for visitors.

We are looking for motivated and interested individuals to help shape the future of Central Geelong. Your experience and knowledge as a business owner, operator or property owner will be invaluable as a member of the Central Geelong Business Reference Group (Reference Group).

The Reference Group will continue with the work initiated by the former CBD Engagement Taskforce in August 2020. The Reference Group will include members of the former taskforce, as well as other interested and eligible community members.

The aim of this reference group is to provide feedback and advice to Council on four main topics:

• Public transport
• Car parking
• Marketing and promotion
• Commercial rates

The group objectives also include the option to provide feedback on other strategic items through submission to the Chief Executive Officer, and to undertake actions that support the progression of priorities identified in the Geelong CBD Engagement Taskforce - Findings Report (2020). This new Reference Group will include members of the former taskforce, as well as other interested and eligible community members. We anticipate running six engagement sessions over the next 24 months.

Membership of the Reference Group is open to business owners/operators and commercial property owners from the Central Geelong Action Plan boundary of postcode 3220. Membership of the Reference Group is voluntary.
