Background

The City's new Community Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2025-29 will provide the direction for how we will work to help improve the health and wellbeing of the Greater Geelong community over the next four years.

For those familiar with local government, this is our Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, which is developed every four years under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008.

Our draft strategy is informed by the needs of our local community, identified through municipal-level data analysis and extensive consultation with stakeholders and residents. This includes input from a deliberative community panel and broad community engagement conducted alongside the Council Plan 2025–2029 process, held from July to September 2024.

The strategy is centred around six health and wellbeing priority areas:

We are seeking your feedback on the strategy, and whether you think it adequately addresses the health and wellbeing needs of our community.

Your feedback will be considered and any necessary changes made to the strategy before the final version is presented to Council for endorsement in July 2025.
