We are writing to residents of Gebrera Ave, Norlane to see whether or not you support the installation of speed humps in your street.
We have previously received requests from residents for traffic calming in Gerbera Ave, Norlane and traffic count data indicates there is a speeding issue within Gerbera Ave, Norlane. As we are completing a traffic project in Tallis St, Norlane shortly it would be more cost effective for the community for us to combine the projects and deliver them at the same time if supported by residents.
The below map shows the locations of the proposed speed humps in your street.
The number of speed humps have been minimised and their locations chosen so that residents are not unduly inconvenienced and access for essential and emergency services is maintained.
Speed humps also need to be located close to power poles for night-time lighting and be spaced at approximately equal distances. Please note parking is allowed on speed humps.
The installation of these traffic calming measures will require the support of the majority of residents for the project to proceed. If supported, construction will occur this financial year (2023/2024).
