PROJECT OVERVIEW
The jetty along the Bob McGovern Path on Geelong’s western foreshore, is widely used for recreational activities, including fishing. With parking at the base of the jetty, it has become a popular spot for locals and tourists alike
To improve accessibility and better align with Disability Discrimination Act standards for walkways, we’re planning to widen the decking from 1.5 metres to 1.8 metres.
We’d also love to hear your ideas on features that could make the jetty more enjoyable and user-friendly for the community. This could include things like improved lighting, additional seating, rod holders, or other practical additions.
Please note that this project does not include changes to the overall design or layout of the jetty. We are seeking feedback only on simple additions that can be incorporated within the existing structure.
How can the community influence this project?
What can be influenced
Improvements shaped by community feedback to make the jetty more welcoming and user-friendly, including seating, rod holders, lighting, and safer handrails, etc.
What is outside of the scope
- Existing car parking provisions will remain unchanged
- Overall design of jetty
- Width of jetty
