Welcome

OVERVIEW

We invite you to provide feedback on two proposed raised pedestrian crossings for High Street, Belmont.

We've previously investigated the addition of two raised pedestrian crossings on High Street, Belmont.

During recent engagement for our Integrated Transport Strategy, we’ve heard from the community that there is still a desire to see additional safe pedestrian crossings on this street.

We are now seeking community and trader feedback on proposed designs for the two crossings, before we pursue external funding opportunities to deliver them.

The proposed pedestrian crossings would improve road safety and pedestrian safety and connectivity in this busy strip shopping precinct.

The following images show the locations and design of the proposed crossings.

PROPOSED LOCATIONS

Proposed Location 1 - 156 High Street, Belmont

The first proposed pedestrian crossing is located at 156 High Street, Belmont. This crossing would provide a safe crossing location between the Coles and Aldi car parks.

It is located mid-block between the existing two signalised crossings at this location. There will be approximately 4 parking spaces removed, the exact amount will be confirmed during detailed design.

Proposed Location 2 - 110 High Street, Belmont

The second proposed pedestrian crossing is at 110 High Street, Belmont. This crossing is proposed at the existing pedestrian refuge island near Subway.

There will be approximately 2 parking spaces removed, the exact number will be confirmed during detailed design.
