Map of Ceres Roads to be sealed

Over the years, the City has received requests regarding the condition of the unsealed roads within the Ceres Township. We have been asked to seal the roads in Gully Road, Heal Street, McCann Street, Thomas Street and Wheatsheaf Road.

We understand that there is a high interest from property owners wanting to upgrade the roads to a sealed road with kerb and channel.

Before we proceed any further, we would like to understand the level of support for the sealing of these roads, including kerb and channel. It is likely that this type of road sealing would be done as part of our Special Rates and Charge scheme process.

While we can only provide accurate figures after a detailed design is complete, our early estimate is that property owners would be required to contribute about $10,000 to the project.

If supported, this road construction will be investigated in the 2023/24 financial year.
