Background

The City is planning to construct a footpath and improve the drainage and parking at 57- 73 Collins Street Drysdale.

The 160 metre footpath was identified as a missing link in the area and will connect existing footpaths along Collins Street to the Drysdale Primary School and tennis club.

The project was initially planned for 2018/2019 however, following feedback from the community regarding the removal of six trees, the project was put on hold.

Based on community feedback the design has been revised, however, we still need to remove one tree (Corymbia ficifolia – flowering gum). The tree lost will be replaced with four new trees.

Following a storm in 2021, three trees were damaged and were removed. The City also plans to replace these trees and plant additional trees to increase canopy cover in this space.

Before we progress, we'd like to understand if you support the new footpath knowing that a tree will be removed.

Please complete the short survey below by 14 October 2022.

If the project is supported works would start in November.
