The rich history of Kardinia Park is a significant and inseparable part of the history of our City. The park is not only a part of the city's urban fabric, playing host to a range of activities and events, but is also a part of the social fabric - it is a place where we come to meet, to laugh, to relax and to have fun.

Heritage Traffic

We have, for the past 80 years, built a city entirely designed around the motor car. We now have a traffic sewer on Latrobe Tce destroying any serenity that may have once been available at Kardinia Park. If we want to indulge our worst nostalgic instincts, how about bringing back the 1925 heritage levels of traffic. Or more realistically, perhaps we sacrifice the 25m of land facing Latrobe Tce, and build apartments as a shield to the rest of the park.
