At present, Kardinia Park is Geelong’s regional netball facility, with nine courts.

Under the proposed concept plan, the City of Greater Geelong would develop a new, fit-for-purpose, regional netball facility with more courts at another location to support the long-term growth of netball.

The proposed delivery of the multi-purpose indoor facility at Kardinia Park would require removal of the four southern netball courts. Prior to these courts being removed, four extra netball courts would be built to the north of the Kardinia Park West Oval, ensuring nine netball courts continue to be available for community use at Kardinia Park in the short to medium term.

Once the new regional netball facility is built, four netball courts would remain at Kardinia Park, continuing to service the local community, including the Geelong Central Netball Association and St Mary’s Sporting Club.
