Minerva Road / Church Street, Herne Hill shopping strip is a thriving area with a mix of eateries, schools, retail and community facilities.

Federal Blackspot Funding for the 2023/2024 financial year has been awarded to the City to address safety issues within the Minerva Road / Church Street area. We are inviting the local community to provide feedback on how to make this area safer for all road users; vehicles, buses, pedestrians and cyclists.

Blackspot projects target road locations where crashes are occurring or are at risk of occurring. By implementing treatments such as traffic signals, pedestrian crossings and speed reductions, the program reduces these risks and saves lives.

Locals who work, live and play in this area can provide valuable feedback for us to evaluate and work into the current design plans to create a safe and functional environment for all users in this area.

Community feedback and safety concerns for this area were used in our application for Blackspot funding. Now that we have been successful in obtaining the funding, we would like to gather your feedback on the proposed solutions via our online survey below.

You can also request a hard copy of the plan and survey by contacting the officer listed in the 'Who's Listening' section of this page, surveys are also available at all of our Customer Service Centres.
