Update - Norlane ARC wins naming approval

29 May 2024

The new $65.6 million community facility on the corner of Cox Road and the Princes Highway in Norlane will be named Norlane ARC (Aquatic Recreation Centre).

Formerly known under its project name Northern Aquatic and Community Hub (NACH), the centre opened to the public in February this year.

The City of Greater Geelong presented four naming options for community feedback early in 2024, based on recommendations from the facility’s Community Liaison Reference Group.

Norlane ARC (Aquatic Recreation Centre) emerged as the preferred option among survey respondents and was approved as the official name during Tuesday night’s Council meeting.

(The adoption of the name is subject to approval from Geographic Names Victoria and registration with NAMESVIC.)
