OVERVIEWThe Greater Geelong City Council considers the following properties surplus to its needs and gives public notice in accordance with Section 189 Local Government Act 1989 of its intent to sell them.
- 34-40 Esperance Crescent, Highton, is Res1 PS543354 on certificate of title volume 11072 Folio 590 and measures 5,000m2 was originally purchased in 2008 and remains as vacant land.
- 116-120 Purnell Road, Corio, being Lots 316 and 317 of LP91706, certificates of title volume 08887 folio 191 and volume 08887 folio 192 with an area of approximately 2,297.60m2. The child care service has been relocated to the new Corio Integrated Child and Family Centre and the building will be demolished prior to the sale.
- Reserve on certificate of title volume 9332 Folio 123 which measures 1.119Ha and is property with address of 11 McHarry Court but located between Welch Court, Consedine Court, Kilpatrick Court, and Goodwin Court, Corio. The land was rezoned for residential purposes following the Council resolution at the Council meeting of 16 February 2016 to adopt Planning Scheme Amendment C330 to rezone part of Connections Park to the General Residential Zone.
In accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989 (“the Act”), any person may make a submission to the Council on the proposed sales. All submissions will be considered. A person may request to be heard in support of the submission either personally or by a specified representative before a Submissions Review Panel meeting, which will be held at a time and location to be advised. Submitters should note that submissions are made available for public inspection upon request.
