Engagement Update - 26 February 2021

Contributions to this engagement have closed and the engagement findings have been released. A copy of the engagement findings report can be found in the Document Library tab on this page.

Thank you to everyone that contributed to the engagement.

The findings have helped to inform an evaluation of the initiative and determine whether it should continue beyond the originally forecast closing date of Monday 8 March 2021.

Whilst we appreciate that there continue to be a diversity of views, given the overall support for the initiative, the City of Greater Geelong will extend the trial for a further six weeks until Sunday 18 April 2021.

Project background

A three-month outdoor dining trial was put in place on 7 December 2020 to support businesses in Ocean Grove and maximise economic recovery from COVID-19 by expanding the number of outdoor dining spaces available along The Terrace, the City of Greater Geelong.

The project aligned with the support and direction from the State Government to enhance outdoor activities in a COVID safe manner.

Community and trader feedback was sought to help evaluate the initiative.
