Council approved market testing seeking proposals to lease the Retail and Office Spaces at Wurriki Nyal, 137-149 Mercer Street Geelong 3220 - Civic Precinct and to enter into a lease with the successful party following the completion of the market testing process.

Wurriki Nyal, at 137-149 Mercer Street, Geelong, will include the new office for the City's CBD workforce, customer service centre and community spaces. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2022, and access will be available for fit out prior.

At 137-149 Mercer Street, Geelong, contained in Certificate of Title Volume 11160 Folio 008, there will be three (3) retail/commercial spaces available for lease comprising approximately 96m², 53m² and 25m²; one (1) café space available for lease comprising approximately 150m²; and office space comprising approximately 2205m² on level 2 available for lease.

Submissions Process

In accordance with section 223 & section 190 of the Local Government Act 1989 and Council's Community Engagement Policy, submissions are invited on the proposed lease/s of 137-149 Mercer Street, Geelong. Any person may make a submission to the Council. All submissions will be considered.

If any person wishes to be heard in support of their submission, they must include a request to be heard in their written submission. This will entitle them to appear, either personally or via a person acting on their behalf, before a Submissions Review Panel. The date, time and location of a panel hearing will be advised.

Submissions on this matter must be received by 2 July 2021.
