Project Update - August 2023

Thank you for your patience while we continue to work on The Rippleside Catchment Study. Due to large rain events in 2021 and 2022, we have expanded the investigation based on community feedback received. The inclusion of this additional information and learnings into the Rippleside study will result in a more robust outcome.

Once we receive draft mapping and flood mitigation options from the consultant, we will update this website

Residents are invited to share their experiences of flooding in the City of Greater Geelong’s largest urban catchment.

Memories and imagery will be used to inform a new flood study of the Rippleside Catchment, which includes the suburbs of North Geelong, Rippleside, Drumcondra, Geelong West, Manifold Heights, Herne Hill and Hamlyn Heights.

The study will help The City and relevant authorities to better understand the flood risks and stormwater management opportunities in the 770 hectare catchment.

Flood studies improve land use planning, emergency response, and community preparedness.

We are asking residents and business and property owners to locate their areas of interest on the map below, view the information and share experiences of flooding.
