Applications are now open to join the City of Greater Geelong's new Sustainability Advisory Committee.

The committee is being created to support implementation of the recently adopted Sustainability Framework and associated 2020-22 Action Plan.

Please familiarise yourself with the framework and action plan from the document library.

The framework outlines 15 objectives across three key priority areas:

  1. Protecting the environment;
  2. Community wellbeing and social equity; and
  3. Responsible and transparent business.

We are seeking community members with expertise and/or experience in sustainability, including (but not limited to):

  • Climate change
  • Emissions reduction
  • Waste management
  • Biodiversity and natural resource management
  • Land use planning
  • Built environment
  • Sustainable food production and systems
  • Public health
  • Social planning
  • Community engagement and education
  • Risk management
  • Financial analysis

The new committee will meet at least four times a year. Membership on the committee is for three years and positions are unpaid.
