Update - 26 June 2026

At its ordinary meeting on Tuesday 23 June 2026, Council declared this Special Charge scheme.

A Levy Notice has been sent to all property owners included in this scheme. Please note that this is NOT the invoice. The Levy Notice is informing property owners that the scheme has been declared and what the cost to your property will be.

A Method of Payment form and an invoice will be sent to all property owners within the next 12 months.

The personal information and feedback (collectively the Data) requested on this page is being collected by City of Greater Geelong (City) for the purpose of the Newcombe Street, Drysdale (Waterway Court to No. 60) SRC 377project, and any other directly related purpose (Project).

A de-identified engagement summary report may be published on our website.

If your personal information is not collected, the Project may not be able to be adequately conducted, and the City may not be able to contact you for further questions or to find solutions.

In order to collect and conduct in depth and detailed analysis of the Data for the purposes of the Project, the City will disclose the Data (including your personal information if provided) to its third-party service providers, including Social Pinpoint Pty Ltd, Converlens Pty Ltd and Amazon Web Services.

Other than as stated above, your personal information will not be disclosed to any external party without your consent, except as required or authorised by law

    Property owners were informed in December 2025 that 60% support was received to proceed to a report to Council asking them to advertise their intention to declare a Special Charge scheme to seal this section of road with a concrete edge strip.

    Intention to Declare Submission period open

    At its ordinary meeting on 24 February 2026, Council resolved their intention to declare the Special Rate and Charge Scheme to seal Newcombe Street, Drysdale from No. 60 to Waterway Court. A public notice was published in The Times newspaper on Friday 6 March 2026. A copy of the notice was sent to all property owners the same day (6 March 2026).

    The submission / objection period will be open from Friday 6 March 2026 and will close on Friday 10 April 2026.

    One submission was received. They did not wish to speak with Council at a Submission Review Panel hearing.

    Council declared this Special Charge scheme at its meeting on 23 June 2026.

    Residents informed of the outcome

    Levy notices have been sent to all property owners included in the scheme. A Method of Payment form and invoice will be sent to all properties within the next 12 months.

    Opportunity to object to VCAT

    All benefiting property owners included in the scheme have the opportunity to object to VCAT (Victorian Civil Administrative Tribunal).

    Levy Notices were sent to property owners on 25 June 2026. The closing date for VCAT submissions is 5pm Monday 27 July 2026.

    Contract tender process / Procurement

    An advert will be placed to invite tenders from construction companies to perform these works.

    A contract will then be drawn up and signed. Residents will be notified when the works will commence.
