First stage of St Leonards Skate Park redevelopment underway

The existing St Leonards Skate Park has been removed to make way for redevelopment of the facility. Removal of the existing skate park elements is the first phase of the redevelopment.

The netball court and half-court will be retained and accessible for the community to enjoy until the second phase of works commence.

Construction of the new facility, and the second phase of the redevelopment, is expected to commence in mid-2022.

Features of the new facility include:

  • various skate elements including banks, rails and transitions catering to beginner and more advanced users;
  • a resurfaced plexi-pave court with markings for netball and basketball;
  • a drinking fountain and park furniture.

The project is jointly funded by the Victorian Government and the City.

The City’s Mobile Youth Hub and Skate Park will be visiting St Leonards over the coming months, with several activities for young people to enjoy.
