OVERVIEW
Applications are now open for the following 2026-28 Council Advisory Committees:
- Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee
- LGBTQIA+ Advisory Committee
- Women in Community Life Advisory Committee
Each advisory committee harnesses specialist community knowledge and perspective to provide advice to Council on policy and strategy.
We encourage you to apply if you have:
- Knowledge or lived experience of the needs and issues that impact inclusion within the Greater Geelong community, relevant to the committee you are applying for, and
- An interest or experience in local community partnerships, advocacy, networks or activities.
Desirable (but not essential) attributes include:
- The ability to contribute to the strategic development of inclusion at local government level,
- Ability to consult with the community you seek to represent and reflect a wide range of views, and
- Knowledge and/or experience of the role and function of an advisory committee.
