Welcome
We have been listening to the community's feedback and concerns raised in relation to traffic flow and pedestrian safety along Ghazeepore Road, Waurn Ponds over the past five years and have been planning works to address community concerns.
We have analysed community feedback submitted via:
- objections to the Hams Road development that made reference to Ghazeepore Road, Waurn Ponds
- traffic concerns submitted to City of Greater Geelong in relation to Ghazeepore Road and side streets.
The most common concerns raised by the community are shown below:
How we plan to address your concerns:
Who's funding these works?
We’re now able to deliver the roundabout at Monterey Drive / Ghazeepore Road intersection thanks to a $313,000 investment through the Victorian Government via the Safe Local Roads and Streets Program.
Oliver Hume Property Funds & HR Waurn Ponds Developer Pty Ltd (the developer of the Hams Road estate), has also contributed $500,000 to the City of Greater Geelong to assist with upgrade works along Ghazeepore Road, Waurn Ponds, as part of their Hams Road development. These funds will be used to deliver the proposed indented bus bays and parking bays, pedestrian refuges at key locations and new footpaths to fill the missing links.
The remaining costs required to cover the upgrades will be funded by City of Greater Geelong.
