Welcome

The City of Greater Geelong is seeking to capture the community's experiences of flooding in Highton, Belmont, Wandana Heights, and Ceres.

This information will help to inform our Highton Stormwater Management Strategy, supporting the City and relevant authorities to better understand and manage flood risk, stormwater quality impacts on local waterways and alternate water supply options for the region.

Community consultation

We want to hear from current and past residents, property owners, businesses, and organisations within the Highton catchment area to help shape our flood modelling work.

The City is seeking to understand where flooding impacts the area, what type of infrastructure is needed to protect the community, and where opportunities exist to capture excess stormwater.

We invite you to share flood stories, memories, views, and local knowledge of the area by completing the survey below. Your input will help us deliver a successful project.

You can share:

  • Your stories
  • Photos and videos
  • Newspaper cuttings and more.

This community engagement will be across three stages:

  • STAGE 1 – Community feedback is requested to gather local flood information and experiences.
  • STAGE 2 – Options to reduce the risk of flooding will be shared on this page for further community feedback.
  • STAGE 3 – The final assessment report will be presented online.
