Notice of Intention to sell land
Section 189 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1989
The Greater Geelong City Council proposes to sell approximately 1752m2 of land located at 137 Mercer Street, Geelong, marked as shaded on Lot 2 of the proposed Plan of Subdivision PS834010W.
The intention to sell includes entitlement to air rights over approximately 13m2 as shown separately in diagram 4 on the below proposed Plan of Subdivision.
In October 2019 Council undertook the statutory process required under section 189 of the Local Government Act 1989 for the proposed sale of land at 137 Mercer Street, Geelong. Council resolved to sell that land at it's meeting on 26 November 2019, however after final design of the Council accommodation building and basement area, it has become necessary to alter the boundaries of the Original Configuration.
A new statutory process for the sale of the revised lot is required.
In accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989, submissions are invited on the proposed sale and any person may make a submission to the Council. All submissions will be considered.
If any person wishes to be heard in support of their submission, they must include in their request to be heard in the written submission. This will entitle them to appear either personally or by a person acting on their behalf, before a Submissions Review Panel. The date, time and location will be advised.
