Welcome
Project Update May 2022
Through the community engagement process we received a range of feedback and identified a number of challenges with the proposed site. Unfortunately these cannot be addressed without significant additional investment and unreasonable detrimental impact to neighbouring properties. As a result it has been determined that Quarry Park is not a preferred location for a fenced dog park.
We are now investigating alternative site options on the Bellarine Peninsula. We are seeking a site that is large, wont impact on its residential neighbours and is easily accessible. Further community engagement will occur through the Have Your Say webpage when a new site has been identified.
Drysdale Fenced Dog Park

Dogs play a very important role in the lives of many community members.
The City has heard the community say they would like more fenced dog parks in our region and we recognise the importance of providing dog owners with suitable places to exercise their pets off-leash.
Greater Geelong currently has one fenced dog park at Stead Park in Corio. A second fenced dog park is under construction in Belmont and plans are progressing to build a third at Rennie St Reserve in Lara.
Quarry Park, located at 1902-1920 Portarlington Road, Drysdale has been identified as a suitable site on the Bellarine Peninsula for a fourth fenced dog park.
The new dog park will provide an additional option for dog walkers to exercise their dog in a controlled manner. The current status of other existing off-leash reserves and beaches will remain.
It is proposed that the dog park will be fenced with double entrance gates, separate active/passive dog areas, agility equipment, paths, park furniture, water taps, bins and landscaping.
The location and proposed concept plans can be viewed below.
