Project Overview
Council has endorsed the release of the Proposed 2022-23 Budget.
Supporting a raft of capital works projects and progressively increasing spending on existing assets are key features of the Proposed 2022-23 Budget.
The Proposed Budget also incorporates the Rating and Revenue Plan annual update and the proposed Sale of Council Land (Buildings).
Through the Rating & Revenue Plan, Council proposes to set out its system of how rates are sourced from the community.
To help ensure that the needs of the community are met in coming budgets and reduce debt levels, Council is also seeking submissions on the potential sale of four surplus properties.
We invite feedback from the public on all topics, with the submission period closing at 5pm on Tuesday 24 May 2022.
2022-23 Budget, Revenue & Rating Plan & Land Sales
Council’s Submissions Review Panel will be hearing submissions relating to the Proposed 2022-23 Budget, 2022-23 Revenue and Rating Plan and Proposed Sale of Council Land (Buildings) at an upcoming Submissions Review Panel Hearing.
When: Wednesday 8 June 2022
Time: 6pm
Where: Council Conference and Reception Centre, City Hall, Little Malop Street, Geelong
This hearing will be held in accordance with Council’s Governance Rules and Community Engagement Policy. Please note that only submitters who indicated in their written submission their wish to be heard will be permitted to make a verbal submission at this hearing.

Revenue and Rating Plan
The Revenue and Rating Plan sets out the system of rates and charges adopted by the Council, for the purposes of allocating the required funding across the municipality.

Sale of Council Land (Buildings)
Each year we review all Council land and buildings to identify if they continue to meet our future needs, or if they are surplus to our requirements.
