PROJECT BACKGROUND
Significant urban development in Bellarine Peninsula's north has led to a new flood study in the growth area.
The Clifton Springs and Drysdale Flood Study will help the City and relevant authorities to better understand the flood risks and stormwater management opportunities in the region. The study area includes Clifton Springs, Drysdale, Curlewis and Bellarine.
The outcomes of the study will inform future stormwater management including land use planning, community flood preparedness and emergency response.
The benefits of the study extend beyond stormwater management. It will also provide valuable information on the wider water cycle, environment and social landscape. It will also refine the flood overlays to minimise any unnecessary planning controls being applied to properties.
