Horseshoe Bend Community Hub Engagement Report Released

12 October 2023

A pre-engagement phase was undertaken to inform development of draft design priorities to be presented to the community for feedback. This included:

  • Discussions with users and service providers/facility managers at existing community hubs including Meli, Best Chance and GenU.
  • Meetings with internal stakeholders and service providers including Family Services, Youth Services, Arts & Culture, Community Inclusion and Connected Communities.
  • Learnings and engagement themes from relevant recent planning and evaluation projects such as Biyal-a Armstrong Creek Town Library, Seniors Clubs Opportunities Report and Integrated Children’s Centre Functional Review.

From 18 August to 17 September 2023 (‘the engagement period’), we sought community feedback on draft design priorities that had been developed, as well as seeking insights and ideas from the community to incorporate into the project; this covered what type of spaces they would like to see, activities they would like to do, facilities and amenities to help them conduct those activities, and components of design to make them feel warm, safe and comfortable.
