Planting Program

Year 1 - Infill plant in the cleared sections of avenue (pictures below). These sections have been cleared as most of the trees present a moderate risk. If we removed just these trees and retained a few, the older trees would increase in risk as they are exposed to the weather, and the young trees would not establish well as the older trees can out compete them for water and nutrients.

Prior to planting we will prepare the soil, the trees will be planted as per the pictures above, with species selection guided by the community.

Year 2 - We are proposing to plant in front of nature strips between Patullos Road and Henderson Drive

Year 3 - extend nature strip planting to the north as appropriate.
