Our Multicultural Action Plan provides direction for Council to think, plan and deliver for the diverse needs of our culturally diverse population.
It is important that the City of Greater Geelong work with all other service providers in Geelong to support culturally diverse communities.
The Plan is our guide to planning and delivering services for our community.
People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds often face barriers to participation.
Issues include lack of accessible information, cultural differences, racism and exclusion.
The Multicultural Action Plan aims to help people from different cultures and faiths feel welcome and able to fully participate in this community.
We engaged with the community between 21 November 2022 to 20 January 2023.
The community was invited to provide feedback to help us plan and deliver project, services and programs that meet and support the needs of our culturally diverse population.
We had some great responses and want to thank everyone for their valuable insights.
The engagement summary (which can be found in the Document Library section of the page) has been developed to report on the engagement process and findings.
This project is currently on a temporary pause, with our intention to revisit the project in 2025. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time as we ensure the project's progress aligns with our goals and commitments.
Once the project has been reviewed we will collate and provide an update to the community.
