The overarching goal of the Draft Mercer, Gheringhap and Bayley Streetscape Masterplan is to elevate the appeal and function of these key areas, making them more inviting, user-friendly, secure, and vibrant.
Your contributions into Stage 1 engagement in late 2021 have contributed to the creation of a draft masterplan that considers factors such as accessibility, pedestrian enhancements, cycling infrastructure, intersection upgrades, greening initiatives, art installations, as well as selection of furniture and materials.
The project aligns with the Revitalising Central Geelong initiative and also considers the Wurriki Nyal precinct and other ongoing and completed projects such as Malop Street Green Spine, Arts and Cultural Precinct, and Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It is the first of a series of draft streetscape masterplans proposed in the CentralGeelong Framework Plan.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the first round of engagement aimed at capturing community aspirations and priorities for the Draft Mercer and Gheringhap Masterplan. Your input is greatly valued and appreciated.
