Applications are now open to join the City of Greater Geelong's Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee. This is a two-year term commencing February 2023.

The Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee (Committee) offers a forum for structured dialogue, discussion and exchange of ideas regarding universal access and inclusion for people of all abilities.

The City of Greater Geelong (City) strives to provide equitable access to goods, services and facilities. The role of the Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee is to promote universal design and access to these services.

The Access and Inclusion Plan is part of the City’s commitment to persons with a disability. The Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee advises on and supports the Access and Inclusion Plan implementation and review.

Objectives of the Committee:

1. To represent the interests of all people with a disability in the municipality, and others who may be affected by disability.
2. To promote integration of disability access and inclusion as part of the core business of the City.
3. To advance Universal Access and Design in accordance with the relevant legislation and the Access and Inclusion Plan, and promote social inclusion for people with a disability and the wider community.

All applicants will be contacted to acknowledge the receipt of your Expression of Interest, and you may be invited to attend an interview. All applicants will be contacted following the decision-making process and notified of the results.

Membership of the committee is for two years and positions are unpaid.

Applications are open to community members aged 18+ who reside or work within the City of Greater Geelong.
