DRYSDALE LIBRARY

  • The Library will deliver civic social infrastructure for the growing community providing access to a library service, community spaces, adult changing places facility and outdoor spaces.
  • The Library is part of the new Drysdale Town Centre at 10 Wyndham Street, Drysdale and will be modern, sustainable and accessible.
  • The sustainable building has been designed to be welcoming and a safe space that is open to all members of the community.
  • Construction of the Library is currently underway and is scheduled for completion in early 2023.
  • The proposed name for the Library is Boronggook Drysdale Library.
  • Bo-rong-gook is the Wadawurrung name for the immediate Drysdale locality and refers to ‘turf'.
  • The City and the Geelong Regional Library Corporation engaged with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation in the Library design development and the inclusion of language in the naming of the new building to reflect Wadawurrung cultural heritage.
