Reporting on the HIVE

As you analyse your data for your project/s, don’t forget about keeping your audience informed along the way, thank them for their time and input.

The most important part of any good community engagement activity is demonstrating to your community that their views have been heard and showing them the details of the feedback we received.

Closing the loop is essential to building trust and building transparency in our decision making. It is a simple/best-practice method that makes our engagement activities more robust and genuine.

Refer to our 'Making sense of your engagement data guide' and engagement steps on the ENGAGE Hub to help you understanding reporting.

Shrinking reports for the page

If your report is too large (max 20MB) to attach - couple options

Split the report into 2 or more parts, or alternatively the HIVE have suggested to shrink report, could use https://shrinkpdf.com

Shrink PDF – Reduce PDF Documents Online

This service shrinks your PDF documents online without degrading resolution, thus avoiding the loss of clarity you may experience using other tools.

Tips

If sharing your responses with other organisations/partners/consultants

Responses need to be anonymous/deidentified, with this wording to be included in your privacy clause

we may share de-identified answers with other organisations involved in the xxxxx’ or something of that nature to ensure we are being clear and transparent.

When sharing the data, we need to remind consultants/partners not to share the information and only review it for the purposes of this xxxxx and their involvement.

Charts - wording not displaying correctly

I reached out recently to HIVE about the wording being cut off in charts (see below ) and was it possible to see entire sentence without using the data table under each chart. See response below: -

I have consulted with our developers, and unfortunately, we are unable to expand the text beyond a certain length in the summary charts. I believe its possible to replicate the chart via excel by exporting the results and re-creating the chart, in the meanwhile the only place where we can have the whole sentences would be the data table under the charts.
