This plan was adopted by Council on 22 June 2021.

The plan sets out the background, design principles, land use and layout for the saleyards precinct (former saleyards and Target headquarters sites in North Geelong) as it transitions to a proposed mixed-use high density residential precinct.

The City will now prepare a planning scheme amendment to introduce new zone and overlay controls to deliver the precinct plan. The amendment will include a public exhibition period (late 2021) and opportunities for submissions.

OVERVIEW

The City has prepared a draft Precinct Plan outlining a framework plan, design concepts and design principles for the Saleyards site. These reflect and build on the ideas shared in last year’s community vision workshop.

At its meeting on Tuesday 26 May 2020, the City of Greater Geelong Council resolved to support the release of the draft Saleyards Precinct Plan for public consultation.

We would love to hear what you think of the draft Precinct Plan as part of the phase 2 community consultation. This feedback will be used to further refine the Precinct Plan before it is finalised and presented to Council for adoption in mid-late 2020.
